Session Title: Media Relations Still Matter
The media landscape is in a state of seemingly constant evolution, but it is still critical in the communications sphere. While most people go to social media for their information, most social channels are news aggregators - they are not creators. So much of the content that is consumed on social media has its roots in mainstream media, and is shared and amplified through social media.
Proactive media relations is a vital tool to build brand awareness, influence public perception and establish the credibility of a company or organization. Strategically managing media interactions will help a festival or event reach its full potential.
