Is Your Event's Security Provider In Compliance With The Law?
Risk, Liability, and the Realities of the Security Guard Industry in Ontario A presentation on things to consider when engaging a security guard provider. What to ask for, what to be aware of and what to watch out for.
Outcomes:
1) Attendees will leave the session better able to identify if a security guard agency is compliant with provincial legislation governing the industry
2)Attendees will leave the session with the capacity to engage a security guard agency with confidence and knowledge.
3) Attendees will leave the session with knowledge of the security guard industry thereby informing their due diligence, risk management and liability reduction exercises
BIO:
Mike Rosina retired in 2021, from a career in law enforcement in the largest municipal police service in Canada. In over 31 years as a police officer he has gained experience in criminal, provincial and internal investigations as well as demonstrations, protests, crowd and traffic control, special event planning, staffing and implementation.
After finishing out his policing career as a seconded instructor at the Ontario Police College, Mike worked as an investigator for Animal Welfare Services. He is currently a compliance inspector with the Private Security and Investigative Services Branch of the Solicitor General’s Office of Ontario. It is his hope that through his passion for sharing knowledge and raising awareness of issues surrounding risk and responsibility that he can live up to one of his personal mottos which is to leave things better than he found them.
