Session Title: A Balanced Approach to Event Planning

In order to run a successful event or festival, sustainability should be at the heart of all planning decisions. Finding a balance between people, planet, and profit will make your events run more smoothly with a stronger base on which to grow. Learn some practical, tested implementations to use at your next event

3) Advice on how to treat sponsors and volunteers in a cost-effective manner

BIO:

Stephanie Soulis is the Founder & CEO of Little Mushroom Catering & Dining Lounge in Cambridge, ON. She has been Chair of the Hospitality Program Advisory Committee for Conestoga College for the past six years and is part of the TSNO Regional Working Group. Stephanie is also the Chair of the Board for the Domestic Violence Victim's Alliance (DVVA), and is a new addition to the Greater KW Chamber of Commerce board. She completed a term on the Waterloo Region Tourism Marketing Corporation (ExploreWaterloo) Board, and the Libro Credit Union Board in London, ON. She is a mentor with Futurpreneurs and TIAO, and an active speaker with the Business Education Partnership.

In 2019, Ontario Food Awards named Little Mushroom the province's Caterer of the Year. LMC has won numerous awards for their sustainablilty and socially responsible practices, including the 2024 Cambridge Chair's Award for Outstanding Workplace.

In 2014 and 2021, Little Mushroom won the Service Excellence Award in Hospitality & Tourism from the Greater KW Chamber; and was named the Small Business of the Year (11-50 employees) in 2019. Stephanie is often called on as an industry expert and disruptor in the hospitality sector, including being a featured speaker at the 2020 Restaurants Canada Show. Steph is an oenophile, a world traveler, and food tour guide with Stroll Walking Tours.
